New businesses often begin unexpectedly

After spending 13 years in New York City, my husband and I decided to move to Sarasota, Florida in the fall of 2003 so that our young children could enjoy lots of sunshine, ride their bicycles, jump in the pool, hang out at Siesta Key and reclaim what New York no longer offered our family – a spontaneity of life.

The inspiration for Celebrate! came to me after enjoying a 23-year career with Clinique Cosmetics as a marketing director.  I planned and organized giant Clinique sales meetings and special events, a gig that isn’t too far a cry from, say, organizing a glamour girl party for a dozen 6-year old girls!!

Drawing from years of marketing experience, I saw a niche for a party planning business.  I was meeting many parents here in Sarasota that were looking for a nice, clean, trendy place to take their children and families for celebrations.  I have also met many people that dread the details of planning parties – both for their children and adult parties.  Hence, Celebrate!
